Cuties With Curls

There isn’t much more adorable than two little girls with big smiles!! This family was so much fun to work with (and the promise of taking a little pumpkin home afterwards doesn’t hurt)! I love fall shoots so so much – the colors are rich, the light is warm, and the decorations are so cozy. I just love family sessions!

A Family Affair

Everyone knows how difficult it can be to get the whole family together – especially when everyone lives in different states! But if you get the opportunity, what better way to spend a day than getting everyone all dressed up and get some whole-family photos taken! Getting to meet the individual families was so much fun, but it really warmed my heart to see all the generations interacting and the love and respect everyone had for each other. Here are a few fun moments from that session!

A Model In the Making

Every family seems to have its “shining star” to the photography world – the one person who is always perfectly posed, smiling, and just plain adorable – I think you’ll be able to tell which little girl I’m talking about in the Johnson family’s photos! We had some fun kid-only time at the park before heading back for the full family shots, and I couldn’t be more pleased at how they turned out! This family has so much fun together that it makes it easy to capture all those great little moments that really define how a family interacts – see for yourself!

A Very Puppy Christmas

Tis the season once again for Christmas photos!! Generally these sessions end up turning into a Christmas/family/couple mixed bag, because I want people to have memories of how they looked at this year of their life as well as the worthy-of-the-family-Christmas-card posed shots. I think maybe that’s why I love themed or seasonal shoots – it’s the best of both worlds!! This couple and Rocky were perfect examples! Plus, who doesn’t love puppies?!?!

Rain, Rain, You Can Stay…

…We will play anyway! This family didn’t mind the wet weather, so we forged along with our shoot yesterday afternoon. It ended up being a good thing we did, because rainy days make for some really fun pictures (especially when a little girl with sparkly red diva rain boots is along!) Downtown Shreveport has some beautiful buildings and colorful wall art to choose from, so we settled on this spot and just had fun! A little rain never stopped anybody 🙂

Pretty Blue Eyes & A Big Red Barn

I had a unique opportunity to explore my new town today, as the family I photographed knew of a beautiful park they wanted to use for their pictures – a park that included this scrumptious old barn! I always love getting vintage, artsy backdrops for my photos while staying outdoors. Nothing beats natural light!! This is a sweet family with two of the most handsome little boys I have ever seen! Gotta love those big blue eyes!

Stars and Stripes

Today I had the privilege of photographing a fellow military family and had so much fun! It always reminds me of the sacrifices anyone serving our country makes and just how proud I am to be part of such a legacy. Here is a little peek of one family sharing that legacy – I hope it warms your heart like it did mine!

Maverick Got Nothin’ on Me!

This absolutely perfect little boy is super special to me!! He was born at 30 weeks due to complications and spent the first few months of his life in NICU getting big and strong enough to come home. I see God every single day in this child and it amazes me all the miracles I’ve gotten to witness since knowing him – I just can’t wait to see all the huge things he will do with his life because it is so obvious that the Lord has BIG, BIG plans for him!! He is just so sweet and I love him to death 🙂 I think this fellow Air Force family was the hardest for us to say goodbye to when we left Florida, but at least looking at his pictures helps me not feel so far away! So, without further ado, I give you Taylor ❤

The Turning of a Page

A few months ago I got to go home to see my baby brother (who isn’t really a baby anymore, but hey, to an older sister? He’ll always be the baby!) graduate high school. I’m so glad I got to be there to capture all the emotion. It makes me remember how huge that day was for me years ago – something we tend to forget about as the years pass.

Oh Happy Day

We had such a great time a few weeks ago when we finally got to celebrate Blake’s graduation from CSO training here – what a sight to see those pretty silver wings! We got to take my parents through the simulators and all around the base, and it was so much fun to celebrate. We even got to go over and look in some of the little trainer planes. We recently announced our pregnancy as well – we are currently 15.5 weeks with our first long-awaited child and excited to be due on Christmas Eve! Here are some fun pictures from that weekend 🙂
